Remaining Birney work includes electrical work and completing the brake system. Electrical work includes restoration of the K10 series-shunt controllers, resistor grids, and circuit breakers. For the brakes a second hand brake is being fabricated to meet requirements for operation. The brake system requires some other work as well. Completion costs are estimated at less than $10,000.
